Made in Limoges, France by G.D. & Cie, this beautiful antique porcelain serving platter combines delicate scattered florals with wonderfully extravagant molded decoration.
The large 16-inch porcelain form has softly scalloped edges and sweeping molded flourishes at either end, highlighted with aged gilt detailing. Tiny blush, peach and gold-toned flowers are scattered across the creamy white porcelain, giving the piece a delicate softness that contrasts beautifully with its dramatic Rococo-inspired ornamentation.
The center is recessed for serving, while the surrounding molded surface makes the platter every bit as beautiful displayed upright in a cabinet, on a plate stand, or layered into an antique tablescape.
The gilt decoration shows visible age and wear, particularly along the raised scrollwork, giving the piece the beautifully timeworn character we love in antique European porcelain.
