19th Century Carl Thieme Dresden Porcelain Compote Centerpiece

Stunning 19th-century Carl Thieme Dresden porcelain compote, richly decorated with hand-painted florals, intricate reticulated openwork, and an abundance of delicate applied porcelain flowers. Gilt detailing traces the pierced basket, scrolling pedestal, and ornate four-footed base.

The bowl features a colorful hand-painted floral bouquet surrounded by individually modeled blossoms in pink, yellow, orange, purple, and blue, with additional applied flowers cascading around the exterior and pedestal.

An exceptionally decorative Carl Thieme Dresden centerpiece with all the unapologetic extravagance of 19th-century Dresden porcelain. A beautiful statement piece for a mantel, dining table, or serious porcelain collection.

Antique condition with age-related wear and possible minor losses to the delicate applied flowers; please review photographs carefully.

The Victorians looked at a normal bowl and said, “Absolutely not. Put flowers on every available surface.”
