A spectacular pair of antique English 1920s silver-on-copper wall sconces, designed with all the unnecessary grandeur we could possibly ask for.

Each sconce features an elaborate heraldic backplate crowned at the top and flanked by sculptural lion and unicorn with deeply modeled scrolling ornament surrounding the central crest. Three dramatic curved candle arms sweep outward from each backplate, giving the pair wonderful dimension and architectural presence.

The silvered surface has developed beautiful patina and areas of wear over the past century, with glimpses of the warm copper beneath adding depth and character to the finish.

At approximately 12 inches wide with an 8-inch projection, these are substantial statement pieces without overwhelming a room. Beautiful flanking an antique mirror, portrait, fireplace, doorway, or tucked into a collected gallery wall.
