A spectacular 19th-century French crystal and bronze cassolete urn, combining beautifully cut crystal with elaborate bronze mounts and a wonderfully theatrical pair of sculptural ram heads.

Standing an impressive 17.4 inches tall, the urn features a tall fluted crystal body with geometric cut decoration, surmounted by an elegant fitted lid and decorative finial. The crystal is encircled by ornate bronze mounts featuring opposing ram heads, floral embellishments, suspended swags and tassel-like drops.

Below, the urn rises from an extraordinarily sculptural bronze pedestal base modeled with sweeping foliate forms and scrolling feet.
